Connect Kraken#

Link your Kraken account to Anboto with trade-only API keys. Anboto trades both spot and futures on Kraken. Kraken issues spot and futures API keys separately, so the connection takes a spot key pair and, if you want to trade futures, an optional futures key pair.

Prerequisites#

  • A Kraken account.
  • Funds in the account you want to trade from.
  • A Kraken Futures API key as well, if you plan to trade futures (see below).

Create the API key on Kraken#

  1. Log in to your Kraken account.
  2. Go to My Profile → Security → API Keys → Create API Key → Go to Kraken Pro.
  3. On Kraken Pro, click Create API Key and set the permissions:
    • Funds → Query
    • Orders & Trades → Select All
    • Data → Query Ledger Entries
  4. Enable IP Address Restriction and paste all of Anboto's IPs, separated by commas (see below).
  5. Keep the API Key and Private Key at hand for the next step. Kraken calls the secret the Private Key; on Anboto it goes in the Spot secret field.

Futures API key (optional)#

Kraken's futures API keys are created separately from the spot key, on Kraken's Futures API settings page. To trade futures through Anboto, create a key there with trading permissions and read access, and keep its API key and secret for the next step.

Without a futures key, spot trading works normally, but futures orders are rejected with a message asking you to add your Kraken Futures API key.

Permissions & IP allowlist#

  • The keys need read and trade access only. Never enable withdrawals — Anboto does not need withdrawal access.
  • Restrict the spot key to Anboto's IP allowlist. The IPs are specific to your Anboto account: find them in the app under Settings → Linked Exchanges and use the Copy all button. Kraken accepts them comma-separated.
  1. Log in to pro.anboto.xyz and open Settings (top right) → Linked Exchanges.
  2. On the Link CEX tab, select the Kraken tile.
  3. Enter the Spot API key and Spot secret (Kraken's API Key and Private Key).
  4. To trade futures, also enter the Futures API key (optional) and Futures secret (optional) from your Kraken Futures API key.
  5. Save.

Anboto validates the key against Kraken as soon as you save. If you see an inline error, the most common causes are that the IP allowlist has not propagated yet or a permission is missing.

Kraken specifics

  • No passphrase and no sub-accounts — the Kraken tile has no Add sub account button. Link one set of keys per Kraken account.
  • Spot and futures balances are shown separately in your Portfolio.
  • Available margin is shown in the order form for Kraken.
  • Leverage cannot be changed from Anboto on Kraken. Set it on Kraken. In the order form's leverage popover, isolated margin reads "This exchange doesn't let Anboto change leverage."; cross margin reads "Cross shares one collateral pool, so leverage isn't set per trade."
